Dr. Marla K. Hendricks

Dr. Marla K. Hendricks

Dr. Hendricks graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University in 1976 from the College of Agriculture with a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences.  She pursued graduate studies in Bioengineering at Texas A&M until 1981 when she entered the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.  Following graduation from vet school in 1985 Dr. Hendricks began her career in veterinary practice in Bryan/College Station, Texas.

In 1990 Dr. Marla Hendricks established Crossroads Animal Clinic in Waco, Texas.  She enjoys practicing all aspects of veterinary medicine and veterinary surgery.  Dr. Hendricks completed a residency in emergency and critical care but prefers general veterinary practice.  The opportunity to take care of a pet’s medical needs and to get to know the people who love them is what Dr. Hendricks finds most rewarding.  Dr. Hendricks believes that pets and their owners can live longer, better lives with appropriate exercise, nutrition and social interactions.

Dr. Hendricks has a 15 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound affectionately nicknamed Thumpy and a 2 year old cat named Wild Bill.  Both pets were rescues who now have forever homes.

When not working at the clinic Dr. Hendricks enjoys running, bicycling, swimming, camping and teaching yoga.  Marla is married to Dave Morrow and their story can be read in the book “Mailander House” or viewed on reruns of Fixer Upper.
